>China recently conducted a flight test of a new missile capable of knocking out U.S. satellites as part of Beijing’s growing space warfare arsenal.
>The test of a Dong Neng-3 exoatmospheric vehicle was carried out Oct. 30 from China’s Korla Missile Test Complex in western China, said two defense officials familiar with reports of the test.
The May 2013 DN-2 anti-satellite test involved “nearly geosynchronous orbit” where most intelligence and navigation satellites are located. The commission described that test as demonstrating “a new high-altitude anti-satellite capability” that could be deployed as early as 2020.
>“China is pursuing a broad and robust array of counterspace capabilities, which includes direct-ascent anti-satellite missiles, co-orbital anti-satellite systems, computer network operations, ground-based satellite jammers, and directed energy weapons,” the report said.
>Air Force Lt. Gen. John “Jay” Raymond, commander of the Joint Functional Component Command for Space, said at a House hearing in March that “we are quickly approaching the point where every satellite in every orbit can be threatened.”

Based China, no more spying on the homeland.

Wait.

You mean China doesn't already have anti-satellite missiles?

That's legitimately surprising.

>>55333137
Shooting down orbital devices would quickly spiral into a huge amount of debris that would eventually render various orbital distances unusable and set humanity back a hundred years or so. This will be harder on China than it will be on the US. Like most of what Bejing does.

No country can fight a war against the USA without at least some sort of anti-satelite technology.

China is gearing up for a war with America as soon as America's economy crashes and that's not far off. We're entering the Post 'Murica world phase and the transition is going to be rough.

There are going to be some gigantic wars by 2040, prepare yourselves accordingly.
>>
>>55339469

The other option is to perpetually let America spy on them forever, and obviously that's not an option they'll want after America's fall from grace.
>>
>theres going to be huge wars going down in 2040.

We've already got a rerun of the first world war going down in the middle east.

Besides, eventually the oil will run out, and when that happens, populations will be isolated from each other, making aggressive warfare over long distances virtually impossible short of nuclear war.

China's got a very narrow window of time to affect the status quo in a manner beneficial to itself before the tyranny of scarce oil hits and makes aggressive behavior over large bodies of water almost impossible.

This is a country that can't even keep its population warm without burning coal and polluting the air to such levels that wildlife avoids it.

Certain parts of China are like that, and other parts are incredibly technologically advanced.

Remember that parts of your country are basically third world level nog-infested shitholes.
