These results are pretty consistent in that most Republicans who aren't voting Trump as their first choice don't have Trump as their second choice. So if a bunch of scrubs drop out, support will consolidate more closely around establishment types.

Cruz is important for all of this, because while he lines up well with the establishment on a lot of things, he came up from outside of the party and doesn't always take orders.
