On a similar note, the Hugo Awards were also ruined by SJWs; awards were being given to people based on how oppressed they were rather than merit, even if it wasn't F/SF. Some dumb whore wrote a book about her shirt and how much she loved that it was purple or something and won an award because she was transgender or a nigress, idr (don't quote me on any of this but that's the level of bullshit involved).
In response a heterogeneous group of authors with some gay name decided to all vote for one piece in each category and win via majority so that people who actually wrote F/SF could win the award. They failed in 2013/4, and then in 2015 when they got a lot of nominations and were slated to win (read: the majority of authors thought that yes, you should win based on your book, not how oppressed you are) the people behind the awards decided there just wouldn't be an award in those categories this year because they're tired of the awards "only going to old white men".
