It's consistent and outside of cities it tastes moderately acceptable. It's the same appeal as In N Out, it's never going to be great, but if you're driving somewhere you don't know or you're in the middle of the central valley surrounded by cow shit and mexicans it's familiar and you can have an extreme confidence it will taste pretty much the same as any other starbucks you've been too. In N Out is even more consistent since they don't franchise, so every single location is directly run by the same people and they all get their ingredients from the same farms.
The price is for consistency and familiarity, not quality. If you know coffee and can make a good cup for yourself while on the go, there's no point going. If you're retarded and don't have a lot of time, it's fantastic.
