I have my shotgun. I'm going to be buying a lot of ammo and probably a couple more smaller shotguns in the coming months for my family.

I was always skeptical of the whole "we have the right to any gun", but it is now clear in my mind that EVERYONE has the right to defend themselves.

Everyone is a fucking retard when it comes to the gauge gun you pick.
I prefer 20ga over 12ga, and I'm a 6ft 16stone rugby player.
It's a massive pissing contest to see who can have the biggest and best gun, but it's fucking pathetic.
Go try out some different guns. Go with traditions guns that are known for being reliable (eg Browning, Beretta, Mossberg etc)
Get advice from gun shop owners, but be weary if they think you should go for an expensive gun.
Don't get a side by side, either. Get an over under or semi auto/auto.
Don't think you have to get a 12ga. Most 12ga aren't good for lots of shooting because they're much heavier than other, smaller calibres. I like 20ga because of the low recoil and lightness of the gun. Allows me to shoot MUCH more, and sustained.
