Yeah but bishops and priests don't always follow what the pope says, actually the church is pretty rotten inside (see the new vatileaks scandal) and many Italians are openly distrustful towards immigrants or they just wear a mask of tolerance. Like in my city which is actually full of immigrants and even holds a mosque, they have been all ostracized in different neighbors.
