The Ganges is 25x more oxygenated then the next most oxygenated river in the world. Putrefaction does not occur.
Nobody knows exactly why.
But the Indians that bathe in it really are pretty much safe from all of the waste they keep pouring into it. Which sucks, because the superstitious morons mistake their luck for magic, so they'll never stop polluting it.
If they didn't pollute it, it would be a great source of drinking water, it would be the best bottled water possible.
But in their reverence, they actually disrespect it to the point of rendering it unfit for consumption.

Actually, since 2007 outsourcing has started to slow tremendously. I work in software and still don't see stateside Indians, unless they're down at the 7-11 trying to talk me into buying hot dogs that are about to expire.
I've also been to India. How anyone in that country survives without being ran over, electrocuted or dying from dysentery, I'm not sure.
