Once upon a time, because immigration laws were followed, America managed to eradicate TB. My great-grandparents came to Ellis Island and waited in long lines so that they could be checked out for communicable diseases and criminal records.
Imagine that- practical reasons to control immigration... so it isn't all about xenophobia and racism.
At some point in the mid 20th century our leaders began to sell us out and ignored our border problem and now TB and who-the-fuck-knows what else is back.
Sure, add plague to the heap of threats our cunt government has hung over our heads like so many pianos...
