You know, I saw someone post this link on Facebook a while ago and looked into it. It looks like the only times they really ran these elections were in '75 and picked Carter, and then the professor went somewhere else, and they didn't hold mock elections until he came back and they did it in 2007, picking Obama. In 2011, they picked Obama, and now they've picked Sanders.
Based on everything I was able to find, it looks like they just pick the liberal candidate every time they do it, so yeah, they picked Bernie.

Six months ago the all the analysts were talking about how Hillary's greatest liability was that she was the "inevitable" candidate. All the smart people in Washington were sure that she couldn't run a successful campaign without a challenge from the left, a foil to let the American people know that she's the "moderate" choice.
And lo, from nowhere Bernie emerges. And he receives a ton of funding and energy as though it was all scripted. Just enough though, to make himself look like a credible candidate without actually being one.
Frankly, Hillary cannot be replaced by Bernie. The democrat party is behind her, not the "independent." As such, it's going to be Hillary for the DEM ticket, but not until she proves she's a winner by handily dispatching Sanders.
The only way the population of this board could do anything truly effective would be to rally against Shillary.
Vying for any of the 200repub candidates this early, with so much money to prop them up and ammo to take them down... it's a waste of time (inb4 TRUMP BUILD GREATNESS)
