I was the only white person at all. I live in the southern USA, but a relatively nice part of it, as American as it gets.
My store was booming, full of impoverished hispanics with dead eyes. I heard more spanish than english. Their children were obnoxious.
I noticed recently how the previously nice neighborhood off the corner is now run down. It feels dangerous. Hip hop plays loudly. I've heard of break-ins. I only see hispanics there.
