But basically he explained since he didn't do the typical career path of most phd / doctorate students who specialize in one thing then essentially become middle management or teaching like 99% of them aim for, and instead just kept researching fields that interest him, he has done research on a number of topics that people normally spend their life work on as their only topic, whereas he got his feet wet and dabbled in a whole bunch of shit and now knows a lot about a whole bunch of stuff.
