The fact that, in the US, all forms of female genital cutting are illegal (unless excused by a "medical" need, which may or may not be legitimate), even those forms objectively less severe than male circumcision, is a violation of equal protection.
The male prepuce is an integral part of the penis, and inside it contains a set of specialized erogenous tissues including the ridged band (which extends from the frenular area to the mucocutaneous junction) and the frenular delta. These tissues are damaged or destroyed by circumcision.

You could in theory use tissue expansion techniques to try to induce your shaft skin to re-cover your glans little by little over a course of months or years by creating more cells, but the end result is not the same thing as a real foreskin. And if you do it wrong, you can end up hurting yourself.
Also, there are radically different styles of circumcision out there. The advice you get for re-covering the glans on the Internet could be applicable to one style, but not another.
For example, if you have a "beauty cut" (an extra "low" style of circumcision where the inner mucosa is removed and the shaft is stitched to seal at the corona), whatever tiny residual amount of scarred inner mucosa you have left is buried in your coronal sulcus. You can't safely expand that--attempting it would end up ripping apart a long-sealed scar. You MIGHT be able to expand your shaft skin to roll over the scar and your glans, but it would be a very superficial imitation of a real foreskin.
If you have a conventional Gomco clamp style circumcision, expanding inner mucosa may be more feasible. Gomco cuts are more common in the US. Beauty cuts are fairly common in Europe but more rare in the US.
A lot of guys talk very generally about restoring without getting into important details like this.

I was trying to convince her and she basically admitted she just didn't want girls to "laugh at his dick" and that when she saw uncircumsized penises herself, she thought it meant the mothers didn't care about the sons enough. There seems to be an element of punishment to circumcision. Like the parents are punishing the child for being a boy.
