New York, California, Texas, and Illinois basically do everything for the other 46 states. The rest of them just grow food. So they are the most "important"

I've been to about 25 states and I've lived in 9. My top 5 would be:
Colorado, Washington, Texas.
And you can keep the other two.
from a foreigners perspective, of the ones i've visited the best were Texas, New York, Massachusetts, Washington and Minnesota.
Louisiana is 50/50 for me because it's objectively shitty but i really like cajun food and got laid like crazy there. new orleans, good times. LA was really shitty, maybe other cities in california are better, i dunno
