Every single person i know who works in or has worked at a restaurant tips. Not a single one of them wants to risk eating snot and cum. There are plenty of restaurants for the poor peasants to eat at that tipping is not expected, like Mcdonalds or Burger King. The menu price is for the food and that price is the same regardless if you eat in the restaurant or take the food home. If you can not afford to pay for the service, you should not shit up the restaurant with your order and ugly clothing, people are trying to eat after all.

It's bullshit, it seems the waiters increase the amount every few years. It was 10%, then they started asking for 12% 15% and I've seen some places that recommend as high as 18% tip. If it's that high it tells me that the restaurant underpays their waiters. I only tip at around 10-15% depending on how close I get it to the next dollar amount, which I do to most and honestly I over tip for the usually mediocre service I get.

If you think all service workers are stupid enough to tamper with someone's meal knowing it's illegal, then you're out of touch with reality. Sure, some might, but most people are simply interested in getting you out the door as soon as possible with no problems.

I worked in the service industry for years at multiple restaurants in a few cities. You have no idea what goes on. Unless you are paying $100/plate, your cook and your server are near minimum wage employees who most likely hate their job.
