The medical board established that the best cure is transition into the wanted gender, that's why this treatment is used. I didn't set these rules, but if you want to question the people that did, then you might need more than a single study made on single person.

This has always confused me about human biology, testosterone (among other hormones) increase libido and sex drive but also lead to more masculine behaviors and appearances. So by my reasoning more feminine and attractive women have lower testosterone than an unattractive one which would proportionally mean they would have a lower libido and drive which seems counter intuitive to facilitating reproduction.
