I always found it funny that some of my fellow atheists has a disdain for christianity yet makes excuses for Islam since they feel like they can't attack bad beliefs from another culture than themselves.
I remember a time when every religion could be criticized, but somewhere around the start of 2010 I noticed a split in the atheist community, at least on youtube. Can't remember if it was before or after Atheism+ and elevator gate. But some time after that it was somehow racist to decry horrible religious practices from the religion of peace.

I just don't get it. I grew in a household where my parents told me I could believe anything I wanted so I never really got the argument that atheists were lashing out at their parents, but now I see that there may be truth to the argument.
