I haven't had more than 24 hours of beard growth in 11 years except one time when I was home sick for a week. Hell we have several spare shaving kits in one of the restrooms at work in case somebody forgot or did an all nighter.

Beards are fine if you actually go to the trouble of treating them properly. You can't just grow them. You need to trim them, soap them and generally make sure the hair doesn't get damaged.

I was being lazy and didn't shave for a couple of days back when I worked for a law firm. Just my luck, the person in front of me in line in the cafeteria was the managing partner. He didn't say anything but gave me a dirty look. HR sent out a memo the next day to everyone in IT reminding them of the firm's grooming standards. Glad I don't work there anymore.
