OKC was an government operation and McVeigh was a patsy.
he had some legit complaints but he chose a shit-tier way to effect them.

Shitty thing is McVeigh was totally clueless about the daycare. He specifically chose the site due to minimum collateral damage. Of course the media used this to their advantage.
I'll never forget when visiting the OKC bombing site, one of the experts who one of the head guides kind of refrained from saying anything bad about McVeigh, it was interesting. Deep down I could tell he knew McVeighs motives had purpose.

The argument is that if he didn't do what he did the ATF & FBI would have kept doing fool shit designed to ramp up public support for gun control at the cost of dozens of innocent lives.
After the federal building bombing there were no more Ruby Ridge incidents. The ATF started doing Fast & Furious style operations where they'd try another angle to get gun control passed (those poor mexicans being murdered with US guns!).
So I mean. I obviously don't agree with what he did but he seems to have succeeded in his objectives.
He showed that one lone angry dude could get so pissed off at the government he could use a moving fan and a lot of fertilizer to take out an entire city block sized building.
That made the government cool their jets.
Without Timothy that Bundy Ranch situation would have DEFINITELY ended in a siege and massacre.
