Sup /pol/. Let's have a debate here. Should Rome rise up and take over like it did in back then? Or stay just a tourist attraction in pizza&pasta land?
The only good taxi is a Crown Victoria. And it has to be driven by a native. Nobody and nothing else need apply.

bruh
keep on topic mmmkay
>>55230282
Just because you don't understand the parallels doesn't mean I'm not keeping it on topic.
I guess you've never ridden in a good taxi.
>>55230397
it's a fucking name
>>55230452
I'm just saying you've never ridden in a good taxi.
Maybe you'd like a Roman Empire in name only, I don't know.
Triarii!
>>55229898
It will. 200 years after the world gets nuked to shit.
>>55230526
not name only, like the whole empire. East and west
>>55230952
Well the idea of a reiteration of the Roman Empire has persisted throughout the remainder of its Western half. I will not speak for the Eastern half. But the modern extents of both halfs go well beyond the historical maps of both.
Now, you'll notice I invoked the name of the queen of england. You can trace the power of Rome, via trade, upward through Europe until it eventually landed there, from the city-states of Northern Italy up through places like Amsterdam, the Hanseanic Leauge, until it resettled in the City of London Corporation.
But if you mean Rome in terms of running water and architecture and halcyon things like that, then, yes, a Ford Crown Victoria also nicely encapsulates those things.
>>55231363
yes roman empire. With all the modern enchantments now, imagine how powerful they would be
Rome will be lucky to keep the trains running on time, and the streets paved.
World domination isn't in the cards
>>55232209
>history has a way of repeating it's self
yeah, rome MIGHT have it in the bag
>>55232399
Roads are of extraordinary importance if you want to think about logistics, which, in my opinion, is what any empire could possibly survive on. The Crown Vic is basically a truck that looks like a car, it rides like a dream over the worst of roads, parts are cheap, there are legions (roman ones?) of people that can fix them, and they go like stink when you put your foot into it.
But they don't make Crown Vics anymore. It's all foreign cars now with foreign drivers who could drive one properly in the first place.
I do like Diocletian, though. Like many, he almost save the Empire by being fair and trying to delegate power like a boss. And then he went off and faded into the sunset to try to escape the horror of watching his Empire fall.

nigga stop the taxi shitt
There's been like twelve attempts to recreate Rome. Even the Roman Empire wasn't based in Rome at the end, and they made everyone from Pakistan to France a Roman. What's the point if the meaning is so diluted?
>>55232919
England also once held the mightiest Empire the world had ever seen. Rome hadn't really had all that strong a foothold there, even.
When I went to Viet Nam, they had an exemplary taxi service, even though the government was trying to stomp it out at the time.
The problems come from within, as I pointed out via Diocletian. And you can get a good reading on it by watching the taxi cars. We've been gutted out from the inside, and so was Rome.

read out your sentence out loud please

Here is a map of what I think where rome takeover if they came back
>>55233646
Damn, Poland.
Turkey is the only legitimate heir to Rome
I've thought it over and what we need is the Mongols to rise again. They are the only ones who have a perfect track record with dealing with the sandniggers and Chinese at the same time.
>>55234603
Does Kublai count as a Mongol?
He put it back together a couple of generations after Ghengis lost it, but it ended a bit sadly. A good lesson about what makes and breaks an empire, but it ended a bit sadly.
>>55229898
>tfw you are living in the new Rome
>tfw you are living in the greatest empire to have ever existed on this earth
PAX AMERICANA
>>55235790
but would other ancient kingdoms like egypt and persia be around?
Rome and Italy are not roman at all anymore, so it could not rise there. Think about who conquered and settled Italy... Ostrogoths and Lombards gave rise to Italy as we know it.
It would have to be centered in...
>>55229898
The Rome we have now is nothing like the SPQR. Its led by a child molester supporting religious institution. They would have been fed to the lions had their cancerous religion not infected the mind of Constatine. Should Rome rise up? Yes. "Rome" is a state of mind now. Rome, that is, the people who desire the Republic, should rise up and reclaim Rome from the grasp of baby fucking Holy men.
Ave Novum Roma!
>>55236939
>Eygpt still Eygpt
>Persia = Iran
>Rome = America
As you guessed the same problems and rivalries occur
