Social Media
I still abide by the aol rules of conduct I learned in the early 90s. Never put your real self on the internet. Teen suicide rate would drop by 80% if they followed this simple advice.

The Internet is a PSYOP to keep your goy ass on a leash (make you easy to track even if you want to avoid being tracked).

Much like WW2 was a PSYOP for the Jews to get radioactive materials for a bomb. They had the designs and just needed a good war to get people motivated to finish it.

Cattle they call us... **do you see me**.

>What killed the Internet?

Plebs, government control and corporate exploitation. It all goes hand in hand.

The more people let the internet be centralized the more it goes into the hands of a few actors (ISPs, sites, content makers), the more it follows the route of becoming all the shitty things we embraced the net to escape.

Just look at Youtube's bid to become a cable network with monthly subscriptions.

Instead of emergent sites based on dedication and an evolving user base, we're subjected to jewing on which viral piece of shit they get trending next. Because everyone's on the same outlets they can push the same shit. You used to be able to trust that there was another person at the end of every opinion and comment or rating, now the majority of everything is bots shilling against each other. It's just another cheap way to take your money, through trust. Literally a con job.

Only sites like 4chan have some of the original honesty left only because it explicitly tells you not to trust 4chan for anything. The user base readily informs you the alphabet soup agencies are spying on whatever you type here and that you're NOT anonymous.

There will be new grounds for the old internet.

Youtube's current state would have been unthinkable in 2005.

At this rate we'll need a new search engine to even find those new grounds you speak of because google's rank system is a joke thanks to botting.

I barely browse the net anymore thanks to this shit. Just a few small sites that are pretty awesome and 4chan because it's the last real place to give no fucks.

The sites which made the web great either sold out to megacorps or committed suicide by way of power-mad owners who ban everyone, and usenet (which couldn't be monetized by design) couldn't keep up with spam.

Now we have virtual monopolies and they suck as much as everything else megacorps touch. Which silicon valley based corporate website should I use this time - google, twitter, reddit, wikipedia, facebook, or tumblr?

At least 4chan's held out so far.
