Our eye's have seen beyond the shadows on the cave wall, even the fire projecting them. We've ventured out of the cave into the daylight.
Our eyes adjusted, the cave seems murkier and when we try to tell the other captives about the shadows, fire, and sun they either think us mad or try to kill us for suggesting there's more than just the cave wall.
But we'll never grow if we lie to ourselves about the reality of our situation and anything that can be destroyed by the truth ought to be.
We're better off gritting our teeth and facing reality without delusions.
