Same as Britain? A lot of it is more recent, people coming from the former colonies. There were always a few blacks in Lisbon since the later Empire that came as slaves and were freed I think, but I barely ever saw blacks in Porto when I was a kid.

6'1 here. It is considered tall - I have seen taller, but it's rare. I'm generally tied with like one other guy for tallest person on the subway, on any given carriage.
Conversely, while working in Budapest, there were like 50% below my height and 50% my height or taller.
I've concluded we're quite average height only, but frankly it's just the northern europeans and such that are systematically tall.
So if you wanna come to a place where your money is worth more, and you are probably tougher than any other males in your vicinity at any given time, Portugal is a nice spot to feel Alpha (and less guns and crime than Brazil to worry about).
