Peter the Great was a Russian king who traveled to the west to get enriched by our culture, so he could travel back to Russia, and spread it there.
Fun Fact: St. Petersburg was built under the instruction and detail of Peter, who copied the themes from France.

I highly recommend to all of you Robert K. Massie's "Peter the Great: His Life and World", one of in my opinion the greatest books ever written. You have no excuse to be alive on this Earth and not be reading it if you haven't yet done so.
