The email urges people to not get overly offended by cultural appropriation, and reminds students that one of the purposes of a liberal arts education is to challenge one's comfort zones.
Limited interest at the time, the Christakises are known conservatives, life as usual
>Morning after Halloween: A black girl writes a facebook post detailing how she was turned away from an SAE party as the event was "white girls only".
Overwhelming support for the facebook post, hundreds of comments, likes, etc.

People start protesting that the administration has done nothing on the matter
