I was bullied a lot in school. They never helped me identify any faults, and I hated them at the time, but I think I became hard to offend because of them.

Bullying is good. As long as you have strong adult role models to put the bullying in perspective for the bullied kids.
Ie, adults to explain that some people are just assholes, or that the bully is acting out because of uncle bad touch, or that you need to stand up to a bully, or that you need to improve yourself avg take the fucking target off your back.

Kids of both genders should have to endure some unwarranted, unjustified criticism from outside parties they have no control over, because that kind of shit will happen to them on a larger scale in adult life and they will need to know how to deal with it. Sure there will be a small percentage that can't accept it, and give up, either through suicide, self harm or reclusion, but those that become adults will have their own victories to learn from

I was bullied so hard growing up by other kids and by my own mother that nothing hurts my feelings anymore.
I was also so unpopular that the only way I ever got attention is by trying to make people laugh.
By the time I was 15 and puberty made me handsome as fuck I was both not sensitive to bullies and I had become more likeable from years of trying to be funny. (Also crashing and burning a lot of the time)
Now I don't know how this would work out for someone who grows up to be a manlet or with a fucked up face but I definitely think being bullied made me stronger and a more likeable person.
Not to mention the bullying stopped right after I punched the worst of my bullies in the fucking face.
I hate remembering my childhood, but I think I'm a better person because of it. Life's hard. Some people check out early. Blame the parents.
