This has been my belief for so long.
As a Christian what they are doing isn't marriage. Although they will borrow from the Christian worldview and label their sin as marriage it isn't.
However if two consenting people which to do something that doesn't impact people who haven't consent fully entered into an agreement then the government should have no role.

These days firefighters don't often bother to try and put out large house fires. For the most part it's a losing battle, houses today are built with such shitty and cheap materials that there's no point. For the most part their goal is to not let the fire spread.

True and False. The average north-american home is wood framed and cheap. It can be replaced easily with insurance.
The point of the fire department is life safety followed by property. Residential homes are not considered highly valuable and the emphasis is not on saving plywood and sheet rock. Put on top the fact that homes burn hotter and faster as our consumer lifestyle increases the amount of shit in our lives that is often made of plastic and oil based materials/chemicals, there is no way you can safely fight any of these fires.
As far as single family residential homes are concerned, unless its room/content and isolated its probably not going to be a directly interior attack, and more of a hybrid moving towards exterior and defensive.
Multi-Family and Commercial are two totally different animals, but we are not talking about that.
