WWII should have never happened - the British should have been fighting the Soviets by Hitler's side, not allied with them - but I make no apologies to enemy nations in a war for casualties or specific actions taken against them by Anglo countries.

the British started bombing German maritime targets in 1939 after having declared war on Germany.
On March 31 1940 the British carried out the first bombing raid on a German city (Emden). Several months and several British bombings later did the Germans retaliate.
