what does /pol/ think of egypt?
>>
>>55198339
I suspect this thread will end up in a racebaiting fest.

I don't know all that much about Egypt but if it wasn't for the instability in the region I'd want to visit to see the pyramids IRL among other things.

>>
I know Dr. Caron played the PC Game Civilization.

In Civ 2 and 3. The world wonder, The Pyramids, act as Granaries in all your cities.

Which explains why he said they were for grain storage.

Egypt used to be based. Badass Religion and Culture, had the Jews on Lock. Then they used their Jew magic to create the Demon YHWH and escape. It must be depressing for Egyptians to look and the Pyramids and know that the pinnacle of their civilization was thousands of years in the past. Now all they do is rape tourists and allahu akbar all over the place.

they have like small side complex you can go into, but there were these weird egyptian guys outside trying to scam the tourists with their bullshit and overweight sketchy looking egyptian military people strutting around outside.

The people of Egypt would have been a very diverse population, coming to the lands of the Nile from far reaches of the world, from the Assyrians and Babylonians of the Middle East, the various sea people of the Mediterranean, to the Kingdoms of Nubia and Ethiopia to the south.

I don't know why everyone keeps trying to paint Egypt as a land of a singular race. It's rulers would have been many different ethnicities across its history.

The ancient world of Africa and the Middle East is just as sweeping and complex in its scope as is the ancient world of the Mediterranean and Europe honestly

None of those people are Egyptians.

If you want to talk about influences, you can start in the Pre-Dynastic periods.

Kingdoms assimilated foreign people into their land and culture all of the time. It's how they grew in size. I'm well aware that those people weren't originally from Egypt, but people from those regions migrated to the lands of the Nile for various reasons across time. I know this is a shock to most people, but Kingdoms were rarely built by the native people of a land.

The religious traditions of Egypt were brought to the land from the ancient Babylonian religious traditions to begin with.

You're right, but you're wrong also.

Babylon became relevant like America became relevant after the Roman Empire, do you understand what I mean?

Babylon became relevant about 1800BC.

During the Uruk period cities were built around central Ziggurats like pic related. 4100–2900 BC.

A lot happened between the Ubaid-Uruk and Babylonian period, you could say nearly 2000 years of history, just as a similar amount of time has transpired between the Roman Empire and the American Empire.
>>
>>55202321
I don't mean that the religious traditions of Egypt are an exact copy of the Babylonian traditions. The knowledge of Babylon was passed down through priests and other people in positions of power through the world, and the high priests of Egypt formed their own religious traditions based upon the very same principles that the traditions of Babylon were.
