only buy Defense Technology (pic related) OC if you can. get 1.3% strength (black band)
The MK/mark numbers refer to the deployment canister size
MK-2 = small canister, good for female purse or jacket pocket etc..
MK-4 = duty size, what cops/COs carry. bigger than Mk-2, won't fit in pants pocket but can fit easily in winter coat pocket
MK-9 = riot size, aka "fogger". can't hide but might be good for under the counter at a store/shop or for your home. Long range and lots of spraying time
get stream or fog spray patterns, MK-2 w/ fog spray is very good for close-range self-defense. if you are protecting your store/shop or home you will probably want a Mk-4 streamer (longer range accuracy) or a MK-9 fogger (spray down multiple assailants)

It is much more mundane than most people would imagine I guess. Much more stuff like filling out paperwork, handing out toilet paper and calling in maintenance requests than fights and rapes etc... The craziest stuff I have seen so far has been when I worked a while in a mental health unit.
