As I have said, I'm Irish. As in a citizen of the Irish republic. I've moved to Britian for work, and have found the place to be vastly superior to Ireland. I always suspected it would be, this was just confirmed. I want to be British and feel that my Britishness was robbed from me by a bunch of traitors in 1916. As a people, we've dealt with this situation very badly, we should never have allowed the troubles to happen, we should have followed O'Connell and pushed for home rule. So much bloodshed would have been spared if we had used democracy instead of uprising. Look at how PC the UK is today, they are terrified of being racist against anyone. Ireland would have gotten a terrific deal if we'd stayed in the union. Instead we didn't, and we got the civil war, the economic war with Britain, the troubles and several recessions to boot.
