The High Court has concluded that Uber is legal.
Section 11(1) of the Private Hire Vehicles (London) Act 1998 bars taximeters from being use in private hire cars, but Lord Justice Ouseley found that the Uber app does not constitute a taximeter.
The Licensed Taxi Drivers Association is launching an appeal against the decision.

There really isn't anything all that great about Uber compared to other transportation other than the novelty of using the app and riding in someone's car instead of a generic taxi. Well and you're more likely to find a younger stud working at Uber than for grandpa's taxi service.
