Literally any system of economy would look great in this situation.
If a luxury condominium decides to have its own "public" healthcare for its residents it would be an incredible healthcare system. Now add 30% of poor people that can't contribute into this condo, suddenly their HS becomes shit.
Whatever "government" run service in this luxury condominium would work really well.
Now show me a country with hundreds of millions of citizens that is a successful big gov welfare state.

The American left is opposed to competition in the public sector, something Scandinavian countries have adopted. They consider it "anti-worker".
Denmark has huge fishing and oil holdings in comparison to it's population. You simply cannot compare countries in totally different situations, it doesn't make any fucking sense and you know it.
When Sweden liberalized it's economy, it saw massive growth. So freeing up the markets in Scandinavian countries produces results. More specifically, competition produces results.
The problem is the US subsidizes most of Denmark's economy. If the US cut off foreign healthcare spending, and to some extent, defense spending, Denmark would go bankrupt unless it cut out most of its socialist services.
There is no free lunch, the US is being stripped of its wealth by almost every other country. It has to stop.
