Serb's, Croat's, Muslim Bosnian's, they all tried ethnic cleansing in certain area's. Really alot of this carnage stemmed from the brutality the Croat's and Muslim's committed against the Serb's during WW2.
The Serb's became nationalistic which is incompatable with Socialism, once Milosevic sided with ethnic Serb's, the Croat's aswell as other's jumped at the opportunity to do the same and break away.
This essentially dissolved Yugoslavia, Croat's, Serb's and Muslim's all killed the other to "define" the nation's border's.
Then in the end they all blamed Milosevic..... Not really anyone else.
