Ok /pol/ why do alot of racist white trash Americans claim native ancestry? They hate blacks, asians and Mexicans (which are Natives) but claim a Cherokee grandma. Wtf is up with that? I even hear girls who look 100 percent German at my University who talk about being native.

Idk about other people but I actually have a shit-ton of Cherokee in my family. And I'm not talking one person...there's obvious half-breeds all over my family tree on both sides. Of my 8 great-grandparents, at least 5 are half-breeds or quadroons (of cherokee).
Yet to most people I look "white." You can see the admixture if you look closely enough though. A lot of American whites simply look kinda "different" from pure Europeans.
That is why people claim that. Because it's actually real.
