The atheists that aren't insufferable pricks wouldn't tell you they're an atheist. The problem is in places like the US it's a hot trend to be an atheist so people feel like they're part of some group that has special foresight when in reality they're just as worthless as the rest of the world.

I have atheist friends that are a couple I visit sometimes. The guy is cool, he doesn't bring it up or mock my religion. His girlfriend keeps telling me to give up all my constricting rules and just live a little though. I guess it's hit and miss.
