Christian Themed Movies are created to do two things- reinforce and validate christian values as important, timeless and superior- and glorify God as the almighty creator he is, praise to him.

Becuase God exists outside of the physical world His presence will likely never be proven with things such as the scientific method. That's actually part of the beauty of His existence. Rather than presenting himself as an objective fact He comes to us as a subjective experience. If you are willing and open hearted you can Let him into your life, or maybe He wants you to be an Athiest because through your atheism you will cure cancer. That's the wonder of such an immensely subjective being.
Whatever your beliefs are, I only encourage you to frequently examine them. Ask questions and look for answers and meaning. Whatever belief you hold now is a part of the path you are forging for your own life, and I think that life is as beautiful to God as every other path. Strive for happiness and fulfillment and I can't really see how you can live an unworthy life.

It doesn't have to be, no. Aquinas in the middle ages said that there is no detail for the time between events nor the state in which creation was made. Particularly dealing with the last one he made the argument that with the writing it could be understood as saying he created things but not in their finished state. This, in the middle ages, is the closest Christian theology has gotten to implying evolution that I know of. It also doesn't stress the text at all, like the idea of treating it as metaphor.
