Also, here's an informative article on EAM's:

Right, obviously you guys are new to the site, which is great, loads of new people to listen to extra stations. But there are things you need to know:

Firstly, if you hear something odd, click Max In. This can show all labels of stations (For example the USAF EAMs) Secondly, if there is no label, click the button that says http://qrg DOT globaltuners DOT com. This can tell you what these stations are.

Thirdly, If there is a green bar under the signal shown in the waterfall, these signals are HAMS. meaning its probably some russian in his shed. If the bar is purple, this is public broadcasting such as BBC Radio 1.

Thanks :)

What do the various phrases heard on USAF mean?

Romeo, Victor, November, Alpha, Charlie, etc.?
>>
These EAMs are more than likely tests, not much is actually habbening..
>>
>>42560556

Probably best to just write down the times of the messages.

That way you can compare it to previous days.
>>
>>42560638
Im not taking this bait
>>
>>42560638
Romeo and Victor are meeting in November at Checkpoint Alpha to kill Charlie Sheen. you heard it first here!
>>
>>42560638

The first 5 is usually the recipient

The stuff after "message follows", is the message.

It's a phonetic code. One time key. Impossible to crack.

WTF was that just now on 11175? First time I've heard DTMF tones with a message.
>>
>>42560510
That's some height of the Syria crisis when the US and Russian fleets faced off in the Med level action there.
Something is certainly up.
>>
>>42560921
>this

>>
>>42561422
What are the French doing on a USAF frequency?
>>
>>42561451
I don't fucking know, man. Everyone in the chat says French and it sounds French
>>
>>42561451

Bleed-over from another Freq.
>>
>>42561451

NATO stuff I'd imagine such as doing bombing runs in Syria
>>
>>42561451
According to logs the French Airforce uses 8992 as well.

New transmitting coming through on 8992
>>
>>42561451
They share it, and use it in different times of the day.
This happens every day. I've been hearing French occasionally on 8992 for years.
>>
11175 is transmitting a MAINSAIL CODE ATM.
>>
I wish the Filipino Monkey could hack into those frequencies. Then it would be a party.

>mainsail code
>being this new

;) mainsail is whos sending it, means its from a ground station (not a boat)
>>
8992 USB has gone blank. There has been two "SkyKing SkyKing do not answer" in the past hour. Unusual but nothing to freak out about. Traffic on 8992 is a bit higher then normal.
>>
8992 activity. No skyking.
>>
Some messed up codes coming in on 8992. Having a hard time understanding it. Guy sounds confused.
>>
Mainsail just finished on 11175 again
>>
>see ya 'round
>>
>>42561762

I worded it poorly, I meant Mainsail is transmitting a code again.
>>
any alternatives for those of us who can't get on http://websdr.ewi.utwente.nl:8901/???

If you're willing to DL a program, you can connect to multiple DSR receivers. Google "Sigmira."
