This problem is actually a thing. When women overstride, they land on their feet harder, which is bad for joints, especially the lower back. It seems like bullshit, but for the shorter people (especially women, who have lower bone density) it can be a problem.
The women who develop these problems typically never played any sports or did anything remotely physically demanding in their lives prior to enlisting, which means that their muscles and bones were never conditioned to be tougher and endure more shock.
The military (at least where i was at) compensated by sizing up the formations by height order (shortest in the front) that way everyone would be pacing off the shortest person. There was this game with Jet Li in it called Rise to Honour which had a skip button for missions. I never finished the game and uninstalled it after about an hour of playing it(it was console game ported poorly to PC). I found the fact that they included it to be insulting.
Also I played Mass Effect 3 on Narrative Difficulty(which is basically "barely anything can kill you and also you kill things really easily" essentially Helper's dream of how a game should be) to see the new endings when they put out the free DLC that changed the ending and it was boring as fuck(I was in a rush and didn't want to piss about dying a ton just to watch the last cutscene given that I'd already finished the game).
I played the entire game on normal difficulty up to that point(you can change difficulty at any time) and it was stressful getting to the end the first time, I killed and was killed by so many people and things and I fought hard for every inch I took.
Narrative difficulty was insulting, I got through the entire last mission on one life and barely used my equipment.
Also ME3 had narrative difficulty in combat and the option for simplified dialogue so you only had to make choices in the major story arcs not actually control the conversations like you usually do. You could finish almost the entire game without engaging in it if you wanted to.
