There is no reason why we're here. We exist because we, and our ancestors, were really good at existing and reproducing. All the narratives, the progression of history, while it follows patterns, is meaningless. Assigning meaning is your responsibility.
Narratives are the enemy of clear thinking. Mankind creates narratives to distill situations into easily digested nuggets for the average dumb person. Most people can't understand reality beyond "Patriarchy!" or "America is #1!" There's a 50/50 chance that you yourself, despite asking the question, can't either.
Most of the lies that exist to be redpilled against take the form of narratives. For example, there exists a narrative that white men have oppressed other races throughout their history. Anything that contradicts this narrative, such as the fact that most slaves were bought by arab traders, captured by fellow africans, and that whites were the first people to outlaw it on a large scale. These facts are just easy to ignore, or to reduce the relevance of to fit the narrative. A lot of people in academia who do this don't know they're doing it (the softer sciences are full of people of limited mental worth).
The biggest lie that everyone believes is that all humans are equal, or even should be treated equally. A lot of the false narrative and disastrous mistakes of our civilization stem from this bs started by Voltaire.
There is nobody out there looking out for you other than yourself. Neither your government, your countrymen, or even people you trade with (as in employers) can be trusted not to screw you.
Society creates narratives to screw you. For example, the idea that anyone can become a millionaire in the US has people convinced that they shouldn't pass laws against the interests of the rich--after all, they'll be joining the ranks of the rich.
