The real likely happening, when it comes, will be a jökulhlaup. That happens when all the ice that the volcano melted to water breaks free of the glacier and makes a massive flood (no threat to anyone if they're not in the way, which is why that part of the island is now closed). The graph is displaying tremors, constant shaking of the ground, not quakes. Supposedly it should get higher in case of an eruption.

There's been some seismic activity in my area in Norcal around Napa and Lake county. I wonder if the pressure inbetween the mantle and the crust is being relieved elsewhere or something, after all earthquakes do send waves through the center of the earth when they go off.

A different geologist anon here, these would be what we're looking for, but they give a distinct pattern on seismometers, which is easily discernable from regular tectonic activity. as soon as we see frequent and powerful harmonic tremors it will be erupting soon, but for now there isn't too much to say that it will erupt in the very near future.

It is a bad thing since if the vent is now melting the ice there are going to be thousands, perhaps million tonnes of melt water on top a volnanic vent.
