I imagine the aim is to achieve one of two things:
1) Gather evidence or proof that otherwise confirms that 4chan is actively planning or participating in some sort of hate campaign to oppress women. spread racism, or do some sort of mean cyberbullying thing to trans people or whatever. In essence, they want something they can righteously bitch about.
2) Feel like they are enacting change or doing something by attacking a big ol' strawman that they are projecting all their feminist and social justice boogeymen onto. 4chan is the Patriarchy, Misogyny, Oppression,Institutionalized Racism, and the opposite of equality, all rolled into one big scary, unknowable package. If they attack 4chan or somehow hinder it (because they believe 4chan is part of a greater movement, instead of something that exists for its own sake as a means of conversing and sharing ideas and stupid pictures) then they can say that they ARE smashing the patriarchy and fighting the good fight, instead of just fucking about on tumblr.
