The European culture is different than what it was during the renaissance period. The European culture during the renaissance period is different than what it was during the Roman Empire. This is the case with cultures ALL OVER the world. For example: If you ever go to Japan to visit, you're going to see normal people who dress normal and work normal and study normal. You're not going to come across samurai, ninjas or shoguns. With or without immigration, cultures constantly evolve. The only 2 things that I can name, which remain intact, are language and religion.
Did the pagans of the Roman Empire ever complain about Christian domination or the loss of their identity? Islam isn't the first religion that made it's way from the Middle East to Europe.
