I hate Communism/Socialism because they are atheistic, materialistic, and ultimately tyrannical, however one of the main reasons that they have such a following is that they talk about modern evils that few others seem to, and, what sets them apart, is that they claim to have a solution.
For example - what Marx called alienation. What we might call dehumanization. The fact is that Capitalism is inherently alienating/dehumanizing because it reduces everything we love in the world to some factor in a profit calculation. Human beings become "human resources" and the fruit of the land becomes "natural resources". Everything is objectified, scientificized, efficiencized, streamlined, mathematicized, statisticified. This absolute ugliness of the modern world which literally labels you and your fellow men "consumers" as though we were all pigs, is covered up by the fanatical believers of human progress who must believe that everything is evolving in their interest.
There's a point when young people are forced to wake up from their childhood slumbers of TV and video games, etc., and realize that they have to "market themselves" to become "employees". There is not much dignity in this. It is like prostitution except actual prostitutes are probably more honest whereas the first thing an employee must do is to learn bullshit and buzzwords for his CV and job interview, how to reduce his very life and identity to a handful of formulaic and impersonal sentences. The realization that you will spend the rest of your life as a pawn to be moved around indifferently by indifferent managers, or else become one of those indifferent managers yourself - as if that is any less dehumanizing. It's at THIS point where they develop all of their idealistic yearning for utopia and the socialist pied-pipers come to seduce them.
Modern life is practically intolerable, or, if you want to use one of the buzzwords of the day, "unsustainable". It's kept up by alcohol, drugs, amusements, pornography, etc. There is no sense of religion, community, shared morality/ethos, tradition, or little of anything that makes life bearable. The modern world has taken the most seedy, dull, and inhuman aspect of life (business, trade, calculation) and glorified it above everything else. Modern men claim to be more humane than their warlike ancestors but their art and song emphatically suggest otherwise. We rightly are appalled at things like the mass human sacrifice that took place in the Aztec empire, but we can at least see the honesty in their contempt for human life. The modern world is protected by a gigantic shroud of euphemisms to mask its absolute contempt for human life; the ultimate image of this being the rhetoric that justifies young girls savagely exterminating their own babies inside their wombs so that they continue to live a life of meaningless pleasures, and the fathers of these babies that encourage this.
What we need is a crusade against the modern world. The Muslims have already started theirs. The Socialists claimed to be a solution but they are really a continuation of the same problem and they tend towards dehumanization even more. Neo-paganism is a joke; paganism itself was degenerate and broken religion filled with trumped-up customs and superstitions. You are going to have to be a Christian. There is literally no other choice. If you aren't a Christian you are essentially a Muslim or Socialist at this point.
