I've been living in Queens for 5 years and I see this in lots of working class Italians and blacks. I don't mean bums or thugs either. Guys working blue collar jobs, delis, street vendors, shit like that. They are outwardly friendly for the most part, but if you look them in the eye you can tell underneath the surface they're violent.
