I have yet to hear anyone counter this argument for why the the minimum wage should be increased to $15. Not trying to start any shit by trolling; honestly want to have a discussion about the minimum wage and have people successfully/realistically counter this argument.
OK, so you agree inflation exists, especially in the US right? Then it's reasonable to assume you agree that the purchasing power of $7.25 back in, say, 2007 was alot stronger than the purchasing power of $7.25 in 2016 right now? To clarify: you were able to buy a lot more products with $7.25 back in 2007 than you are able to now in 2016. OK, then why shouldn't the minimum wage be raised to $15 when the American dollar has gotten weaker?
Usually when I argue this people try to ignore it and/or never have an explanation to justify maintaining the minimum wage at $7.25. I want to know if people on /pol/ can successfully argue against it.
