I'm making this thread because we had a minor shitstorm here in Finland regarding the censorship of a series of old skits made by the comedy group Kummeli. A bit over a week ago people noticed, that some skits were missing from the re-airing of the fifth season of Kummeli. It turns out, that the original creators wanted them removed due to the current migrant crisis. Whether they suddenly turned into SJW's or are simply afraid of becoming the next Charlie Hebdo remains to be seen.

I moved to Quebec 5 years ago and it's pretty clear that the separatist movement is dead. The older generations in Quebec City and rural areas keep it going and only a minority of young people buy into it.
Although I agree with Quebec's desire to preserve their culture, you can't cultivate the desire to preserve culture among people... it either happens or it doesn't.
People are still going to want their iPhones, avocados, federal jobs, etc.
And the language laws in Quebec are working against us - accepting French-speaking immigrants isn't exactly picking the cream of the crop (i.e.: N. Africa, Haiti, etc.).
