Just because I am on the right wing side of things and happen to believe global warming isn't a problem does not mean that I don't want to make the earth more aesthetically pleasing and more self-sufficient. I don't believe in global warming but I do believe you are an idiot if you don't support wind energy, solar energy, hyrdo energy, electric energy and even nuclear energy. I am not against using fuel, I use fuel every day and like to use it. However I am a woodsman and fully understand the need for something to be self-sufficient. Why are we right wingers so outright against these things? Is it purely a profit argument? I just have the hardest time understanding this. Obviously those environmental nutjobs are silly, the earth is going to shake us off like a bad case of fleas as george carlin would say... but that doesn't even begin to argue against making things better through innovation. Only profit can argue that, and I would argue that as humans, the great puzzle solvers of this planet, would create profit elsewhere with their new found efficiency. Don't you want to beat other countries in these markets, as you would want to beat any country in any other market?
To be entirely honest, if the GOP added clean energy and efficient energy reform to their platform they would have some moral high ground that is usually held by liberals, however, it is as far as I could imagine also in the best interests of right wingers.
