heyo, what about the usage of origami on different projects, like sculpting, jewellery etc.? im planning to plate origamis with metal and curious about the copyrights. Can i use only traditional models?
You should be fine with traditional models, but models such as the Kawasaki Rose are copyrighted.
I know a person who makes ceramic origami by folding sheets of clay.
Traditional models are perfectly fine to use. If you want to make, and sell, contemporary stuff you are going to need the designers permision. If you just want to make it for yourself then go ahead, no one will care.

thank you that made things clear. what about getting permission from artists, have anybody here do that? you just ask them about permission and its ok?

I'm not sure on the specifics, but I'm pretty sure more or less all artists own the IP to their own models.
So yeah, send them an email and ask. Most origami people are pretty cool, they probably wouldn't mind. It might be a bit hard if they are Japanese though. The worst that's going to happen is they say no.
