No way! Written diagrams are much easier to do and can be printed (and then, used without a computer/phone/device).
Animated diagrams are nice to look at, but that's all.
That's the same as those point-and-click games videos walkthrough, when a simple text is much more useful.
That kind of looks like kirigami to me. Then again I have a cold so...
