Hey /po/, it's been a while so I thought I'd dump some of my origami related works.
This is a 4x4ft CP for a butterfly done with sharpie, resisted with tape and blended with alcohol. Have it on my wall now
Here's a oil painting of a guy named "Sailor Dan" on a boat CP.
The oil is 12x12in.
And a 50x40in collage that I just finished today based on a balloon CP. I will grab better photos tomorrow.
Seeing how slow this board is, I'll bump with any new works. If you know of any highly symettrical or highly unbalanced models, please post!
Social Butterfly.
Finished with couch to scale.
Are you copying Sara Morris "style"? ^o^

Goddamn, I guess I kind of am. If I avoid pure CP and flat tones I should be semi original.
CPs are two colourable. Using a large enough canvas one could create discrete cubist wofks.
>>529127
>CPs are two colourable.
not always, if the base formed with the cp is flat then it is 2 colorable, the converse is not true.
Started as a wolf CP, was way too complex simplified, fucked up some lines ended with a mess of values and this.
nice cat

Thanks, his name is Emmett. His buddy is Midnight, a 40lb sausage of a cat.
Necrobump
And another!

I like it
keep up the craft
>>531710
Wow, this is really impressive anon. I dig it.
>>531849
Thanks! I finished the rest of them today, here's the big one of the bunch. Test Transmissions.
For the next set I want to reuse the border technique of >>531710 and >>528990. I'm going to remove more lines like in that watercolor. Makes shit all dreamy.
>>531990
Fucking bought a TV from a dude, way to small to fit Test Transmission into. So I just set a ground on this CRT. Oil on Glass.
>>533188
Fucking based.

Kek forgot image.
Shit photo, oil and newspaper on canvas.
>mfw there was an origamist showing at a local gallery
>get liquored at reception with her
>Talk mad CP shit and asshole folds
>Gives me her number and invites me over
YEAH BOI!
Pretty origami triangle.
Grasshopper thing!
It's funny, I showed a BFA student at my local uni this jazz and she recognized it as origami. She furrowed her brow and was able to recognize the crane CP. First person to understand what I was throwing down.
Rectangular forms!
Grasshoppers!
This is all beautiful

Next step collage! Wait fuck, I did that. Can you tell I have memory issues?
>>528989
i'd say thin your paints and get cleaner edges in general and this would all be really nice, but as it is it feels sorta rushed
I didn't realize putting arbitrary painter's tape lines over everything was considered "amazing" now.
But perhaps your High school art studio class will teach you to do something a bit more creative.
It looks like the bare minimum of effort goes into each of these "paintings".
one or two is cool but you should actually fold them into something big
>>535439
>arbitrary
Do you even fold? But I hear you on how hacky it seems. Each of those patterns takes the better part of a hour to get on there, let alone painting the damn thing. The solid colour ones are pretty lame, I'll give you that. Need to do more work like >>531710 & >>529661 .
>>535407
Yeah I'm not the greatest painter, I would love cleaner lines but my control with oils isn't the greatest. That and when I'm working around on a stretched canvas it bends eh. Should try canvas on board.
>>535452
bigger is always better
>>537250
you should have let this thread die
>>535461
Since this post I have started working on harder surfaces and using fatter paints. My line work has been getting crisper!
But seriously, I need to get back into folding. Throw some CPs at me? Anything with those oblong triangle shapes featured prominently.
But fuck just copying a CP 1:1 onto canvas, gross. The cubist watercolour is where it is at.
